Assistant Professor of Psychology

Position Description:

Springfield College invites applications for a tenure track position in the Department of Psychology. Responsibilities include four courses per semester as well as student advising and recruitment. Courses taught may include Introductory Psychology, Statistics and/or Research Methods, and intermediate and upper-level classes in the candidate’s area of specialization. Preference will be given to those who can teach in one or more of these content areas: psychological testing, motivation and learning, child development, social psychology, psychology of diversity, psychology of gender, and actively engage undergraduate students in their research through our directed research course. The Psychology Department is a vibrant and growing department that includes a large undergraduate major, five master’s level programs, and a Counseling Psychology, Psy.D. program. We strive to recruit and retain a highly qualified and diverse faculty and staff to enrich the educational experience for all students.

Position Qualifications:

Successful candidates must have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution and provide evidence of strong teaching skills and an active research program with the ability to collaborate with undergraduate students. ABD’s with a summer degree completion date will be considered. Strong commitment to service also expected.
