Assistant Director for Recruitment and Outreach-Boston
Springfield College invites applications for the position of Assistant Director for Recruitment and Outreach for the School of Professional and Continuing Studies-Boston. This position is responsible for all aspects of outreach and recruitment for undergraduate and graduate programs of the School, including the flow of all communications to students from inquiry to admissions. This position provides leadership and is responsible for: identifying and pursuing new sources of potential student lead generation; developing and implementing a yearly outreach and recruitment plan; tracking and follow up of leads; conversion rates from lead to application; and for achieving overall annual recruitment goals of the campus. The Assistant Director for Recruitment and Outreach reports directly to the Assistant Dean/Campus Director and works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions to assist in the development of recruitment goals, refinement of practice, and for professional development. Duties include but are not limited to: building relationships with community based organizations/human service agencies; community colleges; organizing open houses; tracking and following up with all lead/inquiries utilizing the School’s process; and supporting the admissions pipeline through to first enrollment. In addition, this position includes responsibilities related to new student orientation and developing marketing plans in collaboration with the School’s Marketing Director.
Minimum Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with three years or prior experience with sales, recruitment or marketing in higher education or related industries. Master’s Degree preferred. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment are skills essential to this position. In addition, candidates must have the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Candidates must have experience in recruitment and admissions, making public presentations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation are required. Knowledge of admissions for non-traditional students, basic knowledge of financial aid, computer and working with social media skills. A positive attitude and the ability to work independently are necessary, as well as the ability to deal with pressure in meeting projected enrollment goals.
